I know this makes Jughead seem infantile but my first thought was that Betty had those animal crackers in her purse for him. I’m pretty sure they are at the courthouse and she probably knew her boy would be hangry. 🤷🏻♀️

I can imagine a scene where Jughead is getting worked up yelling at Hiram, and Betty is nodding angrily next to him, and without even missing a beat, she reaches into her bag and gives him the animal crackers, and he tears it open furiously while STILL YELLING AT HIRAM.
